TESDA Scholarship: Free Training under STEP

The Balicuatro College of Arts and Trades (BCAT) is now accepting enrollees under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

If you’re looking for a chance to gain in-demand skills and increase your job opportunities, this is your opportunity!

Available Training Programs

Each qualification offers 25 slots only, making early application highly recommended. The following programs are available:

  • Automotive Servicing NC I
  • Carpentry NC II
  • Cookery NC II
  • Dressmaking NC II
  • Driving NC II
  • Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II
  • Masonry NC II
  • PV Systems Installation NC II
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II
  • Tile Setting NC II

These programs focus on competency-based training, ensuring that scholars develop hands-on skills and are assessed according to national standards.

Who May Apply?

The scholarship is open to a wide range of applicants, including:

  • Elementary undergraduate or graduate
  • Junior High School or Senior High School graduate
  • High School graduate (old curriculum)
  • College level or college graduate

This inclusive qualification allows more individuals, especially unemployed and underemployed community members, to benefit from government-supported training.

Documentary Requirements

Interested applicants must submit photocopies of the following:

  • Transcript of Records (TOR) or Diploma
  • PSA Birth Certificate
  • Marriage Certificate (for married women)

Applicants are encouraged to prepare complete documents to facilitate smooth processing.
