TESDA Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I Scholarship

Good news! The TESDA Provincial Training Center - Urdaneta is now accepting scholars for Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) with free training, assessment, and allowance.

Requirements:

  • Birth Certificate
  • High School Card
  • 2 pcs. Passport size ID picture

Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I is a TESDA-accredited training program that focuses on providing individuals with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for shielded metal arc welding, which is also known as stick welding. This certification program is designed to equip participants with the basic skills required to perform welding tasks safely and effectively.

The curriculum for SMAW NC I typically includes the following components:

Welding Safety: Instruction on safe welding practices, including the use of personal protective equipment and safety precautions to prevent accidents and injuries.

Welding Theory: Understanding the principles of shielded metal arc welding, including the different types of electrodes, welding processes, and welding positions.

Welding Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Training on setting up welding equipment, including the welding machine and welding electrodes. Maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment may also be covered.

Welding Techniques: Hands-on training in various welding techniques, such as bead welding and fillet welding, using shielded metal arc welding equipment.

Welding Practice: Practical exercises where students apply their knowledge and skills to perform welding tasks on different types of metal and in various positions.
